Dear Delilah: Month 12

Happy Birthday my sweet perfect little Angel! I'm so proud of both you and I (Daddy too) for surviving our first year and having a blast along the way!

Since the moment we found out we were pregnant with you, you've been perfect. I had a perfect, fun pregnancy. I had my perfect birth day at home when you joined us. I've had a perfect first year. I can't wait for many more perfect times with my perfect daughter. I love you so much Delilah Belle and I am so thankful to have you. Daddy loves you lots and lots and lots too! You are his girl and he is so proud to show you off always.

Okay, so the first year wasn't all perfectness but the good times sure do outweigh the bumps along the way. You are such a sweet little baby who has turned into such a fun and lovely toddler.

We have had some struggles with your skin and tummy issues but hopefully we are close to getting those issues fixed and you back to the picture of health. Even though you are itchy and have tummy aches, you are always pleasant and happy. When you are sad and crying, there's one thing that will always bring a smile to your face. What is that? Your boobies, of course!

This month ~ we have had to deal with a whole new ailment. Pink eye. First you got it and I was being a good mama and nursing you back to health. I was washing your eyes with a warm compress and squirting my milk in your eyes. You are not a fan of either of those activities! Then somehow, I also got pink eye. Yuck! So we're still trying to get better... I'm trying to heal you naturally (since I'm a hippy you know) but if it doesn't clear up soon, I will break down and use the antibiotics that Dr. Pam prescribed.

Speaking of Dr. Pam, we had your 12 month check up. She thought you looked healthy (aside from the conjunctivitis of course) until we weighed you and she saw that it's been a long time since you've gained any weight. Well, you are just thin. I don't see what the big deal is, you eat a lot. You eat tons of booby that's for sure and you eat your big girl food 3 times a day. So here are your stats...

29 inches long - 50th percentile and 16.5 lbs - 5th percentile. Maybe you will grow up to be a gorgeous supermodel with those long gams of yours? I hope you'll buy mama a Chanel bag when you get famous ;)

You had lots of visitors this month... Grammy came to visit for a week, Baba, Papa, Sarjeet and Matthew came for your party but everyone is gone now. It was a nice break for mama having Grammy here to play with you. Luckily, Daddy is off of work this week for his vacation and it is nice. Sometimes you don't want to spend time with Daddy because Daddy doesn't have boobies but that's okay. It's not Daddy's fault, he was born that way ;)

While Grammy was here we went on the Christmas Train and you met Mrs. Claus. We all had a really fun time doing that, even if it was a bit nippy :) Grammy and I also took you to South Coast to ride the carousel and sit on Santa's lap. When it was our turn to sit on Santa's lap, you were walking up to him like a big girl and his dumb elf yelled out and scared you so much that you took a tumble. Well, after that scare, you were not prepared to visit Santa and you started crying :( Grammy and I pushed you around and took you to see the choo choo train and you were happy again. Grammy demanded they do a re shoot and you were happy to sit on Santa's lap this time.

The last thing that happened this month was that we found out that our little Delilah Belle is going to be a big sister to a new baby. We are very excited and know that you will love the new little baby. We're only worried about how you'll do with sharing your boobies...

Love, Mama
